As Technology Officer of Cisco’s EMEAR Data Center team, Tjerk is focused on evangelizing the Cisco DC vision, strategy and technology to executives, architects and engineers. Tjerk also represent Cisco at public events speaking where he shares Cisco’s vision for the data center future.
Tjerk joined Cisco in 1998 and has had various pre-sales engineering roles in The Netherlands and in Emerging Markets where he was the solution architect for Cisco’s key Financial Services customers. With the announcement of the Cisco Unified Compute System (UCS) in 2009 he joined the European DC team to drive awareness, customer adoption and technical leadership for UCS in the x86 blade server market.
In 2013 he took on an additional task as part of a small internal team - bringing Insieme Networks (a Cisco Spin-in) back into Cisco and prepare for the public launch of Insieme's new product called "Application Centric Infrastructure”. Cisco ACI has started shipping to customers in July 2014 and the role has expanded to educate, promote and implement Cisco’s ACI vision to customers and partners.
