Joe Weinman
Joe Weinman, serves as the Chairman of the IEEE Intercloud Testbed Executive Committee. He is the author of the highly regarded Cloudonomics: The Business Value of Cloud Computing as well as a forthcoming book on IT-enabled business strategy.
Named a "Top 10 Cloud Computing Leader" as well as receiving many other accolades, he is known as a thought leader in the industry, using behavioral economics, cross-sector benchmarking, and quantitative analysis to derive cloud computing market and technical architecture insights.  
He has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Cornell University, a Masters in C.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has completed executive education at the International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne. He is a former senior executive at Bell Laboratories, AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, and Telx.

Joe has been awarded 20 U.S. and international patents. Expertise & consulting includes: economies of the statistics of workload multiplexing, service node build-out requirements for latency reduction, computational complexity and axiomatic formulation of cloud computing, game-theoretic dominance of pay-per-use pricing in duopolies with flat-rate providers, and optimal hybrid clouds for given application demand fluctuations

He has had a variety of articles and talks published in the print and/or on-line editions of The New York Times, Business Week, Entrepreneur, Forbes, CNN Money, Business Communications Review, Global Telecoms Business, BillingOSS Magazine, Information Week, GigaOM, Salon, VON, the ACM, the IEEE, CIO Magazine, and The AT&T Technical Journal, and occasionally contributes to his own blogs, Cloudonomics.com and The Network Effect. He has also been selected as a Netflix Cloud Prize judge, featured in Art and Living magazine, appeared multiple times on Asian, U.S., and European television, is frequently quoted in the U.S. and international magazine, newspaper, and online media, and appears in a number of on-line videos such as the New York Times Timescast, The Street, and for various companies and events.

He is currently or has been a member of a well-known Silicon Valley Venture Capital Technology Advisory Board, the IBM Advanced eBusiness Council, the Cisco Global Customer Advisory Board, the Intel Communications Board of Advisors, the Veritas (now Symantec) Utility Computing Advisory Board, the Hitachi Technology Advisory Council, the EMC Customer Advisory Council, the Technology Manager's Forum Corporate Advisory Board, where he has been a Best Practice Awards judge, the Technology Advisory Board of a Silicon Valley start-up, and supported initiatives and events of the World Economic Forum, the United Nations / International Telecom Union, the United States FCC and State Department Public-Private Partnership U.S. Telecom Training Institute He is a past Chairman of the joint National Science Foundation / Industry Advisory Board of the Center for the Management of Information at the University of Arizona.
